Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Wil Wheaton fully understands The Furry Effect.

PS - Big Willie, when are you gonna get on my podcast?

Oh For Fuck’s Sake

Monday, July 30th, 2007

According to NPR News-

The White House is set to offer Gulf Arab countries as much as $20 billion in new, sophisticated weapons as part of a larger plan to block Iran’s influence by developing a stronger strategic relationship with allies in the region.

Does anyone remember how Osama Bin Laden got his weapons and training in the first place? Here’s a hint: the guns said “Made In The USA” on them. How many times do we have to repeat the same fucking mistakes?

Or, perchance, maybe this time we’re arming people who’ll never ever EVER turn against us, pinky swear.

WTF? Someone is sabotaging the space station?

NASA officials revealed last night that a computer destined to become part of the International Space Station had been intentionally sabotaged.

Space officials announced that NASA had been alerted to the possible sabotage early last week by an unnamed subcontracting company. An employee of the company had apparently purposefully damaged two machines, one due to fly in space and one not.

Who the hell would do something like that? And WHY? Jeez, humans suck sometimes.

I abso-fucking-lutely could not make this one up. It has nothing to do with music, nothing to do with birds, but I would be remiss if I didn’t share this line (and link) from the San Jose Mercury News.

A prison inmate mistakenly released 36 years early was re-arrested after approaching his victim in a bar and apologizing for shooting him in the head.

Oops.

Long Month Coming

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

I have arrived on Block Island for the month. My car keys, however, are taking an extra day off in Boston and will (hopefully) arrive before I need to bring my gear to the club.

This is going to be a long month, methinks.

Good Morning, Mr. Bird

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to do all the stuff you’ve been procrastinating for the past month. Today.

  • Get a haircut
  • Memorize 7 or 8 more songs
  • Play a SL concert at 6pm SLT
  • Pump some iron
  • Clean out The Birdmobile
  • Do your laundry. All of it.
  • Start packing for Rhode Island
  • Test out your keyboard rack without Rex

This is gonna be a long, long Friday.

Osprey in SL, Osprey in RL

Monday, June 18th, 2007

I just sent off my first payment to have an osprey suit made for the MFM concert. Now birdie can look like a birdie in the right environments (like MFM, coffee, church, etc.) quite soon!

Birdie am happy. :)

LJ 1, Bird 0

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Well, I decided to say “screw it” and subscribe to all my LJ friends’ RSS feeds individually last night since I miss the conversations there. Too bad the RSS feeds just plain don’t work. I checked this morning and NOTHING new had come in via Google Reader, so I don’t know how I’m supposed to get this stuff without visiting LJ.

This is why paying for LJ is stupid… there are plenty of community blog systems that actually work. And yes, I can set up a way to phone in audio posts to this blog as well. For free. Believe it.

*sigh* I wanna keep up with my friends. Why does LJ make it so difficult?

What Should Hali Heron Look Like?

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

So I was contemplating a new Second Life body for myself since I’m not really a blackbird (even though all the graphics on my website show me as such). Most folks know me as an osprey, but I couldn’t find an osprey av.

Well now I’m kinda SL-rich and I can afford a custom-made body. Should I finally be the osprey I am outside of SL?

Would you pay a little more at Registration to see real musical acts at conventions?

(Oh, and this is kind of a test to see if this poll thing works in LJ as well… if not, I’ll try not to embed them in LJ cross-posts in the future.)

Finally getting the new website set up

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

I’m not sure if I’m going to really make this a “business” site per se, but since Hali Heron in Second Life is gettin’ kinda famous, I’d better at least put a prettier face on my personal log.

So please let me know what you think of the new digs right here:
