Given that times are really rough right now and a bird has got to set priorities… I’m tempted to put my Associated Student Bodies set up on FurBuy. I really hate to do this, I absolutely loved the story and the artwork… but I also love eating and paying rent and in this economy it’s time to do what we must.
Also, I’m sure that there are furs out there who really want to get a copy of this out-of-print work but simply can’t. The lucky buyer, of course, would not just get a first-print complete set but autographed by the artist. I’ve sent a message to Chris McKinley about this decision just to get his input, but assuming he’s not grossly offended I’ll probably toss the set up on FurBuy this month.
I wonder what kind of offers I’ll get for this once it goes live on the site…
No, seriously. Why are you reading this post? It had better be because you’ve already voted or you’re not an American. If that ain’t the case, put the laptop/iPhone/Blackberry/8-core Mac Pro with 32G RAM/Palm/Etch-a-Sketch down and get to the polls.
I love that people who go to conventions like Furfright and FWA and such post their photos on Flickr. However, nobody seems to realize that you can allow other Flickr users to tag your photos. If you’re taking a bigass group photo after the fursuit parade or shooting every single suiter in the parade, please leave the tags open so we can add the names of people we recognize!
That’ll make it easier for those people to find your photos and make it easier for them to thank you for taking them!
I just posted the few Furfright photos that I took. I got a decent chunk of video, but only a few photos. I don’t know all the names of the people in these photos, tho, so please help me out and leave some comments or tags on the photos!
Everyone goes through this from time to time, I’m sure. I’m just not feeling like a bird these days. Part of it is because I’m exiled on a resort island where I’m fronting a 2-man cover act 5 days a week. The atmosphere here is touristy, beach-volleyball, 1980’s jock-flick-tastic, and here I am… a Furry geek-rocker.
To say the least, I feel out of place all the time.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun and it’s paying off a lot of credit debt, but I just don’t feel like a bird when I’m out here. All I can do is stare at the Great Egrets, Osprey, and other actual birds and sigh wistfully. Come September I’ll be out of here, and I’ll be back to my usual broke self again.
